Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Sherlock Research.

Last updated: May 24, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of sherlockreports.com and the reports, subscriptions, and services offered by Sherlock Research ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the site or purchasing a report, you agree to these Terms.

1. Reports & licensing

What you're buying

Each Sherlock report is a digital PDF (or related deliverable) containing market intelligence research. Reports are licensed, not sold — you do not own the underlying copyright.

Permitted use

Not permitted

For agency, franchise, or enterprise distribution, contact us about an extended license.

2. Refunds — the 30-day "made a better decision" guarantee

If a report doesn't give you at least one insight you can act on, email us within 30 days of purchase and we'll refund the full amount. After 30 days, all sales are final.

3. Payment & subscriptions

4. Accuracy & disclaimers

Sherlock reports combine national datasets, public benchmarks, operator interviews, customer research, local market signals, and city-level cuts where available. We work hard to produce accurate, useful intelligence, but no research is perfect. Reports are decision-support tools, not investment advice, financial advice, or guarantees of future results.

You are responsible for your own business decisions. Sherlock Research is not liable for outcomes resulting from your use of the reports.

5. Intellectual property

All content on this site and in our reports — including text, charts, structure, branding, and methodology — is the property of Sherlock Research or licensed contributors. You receive a limited license to use the content as described in Section 1.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sherlock Research's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the site or reports is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant report in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, particularly the licensing restrictions in Section 1. You may stop using the site or cancel subscriptions at any time.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Massachusetts, USA. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced on this page and, where appropriate, via email to active customers. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
